As women in medicine, we navigate a daily deluge of decisions. Picture this: seeing 30 patients a day, each requiring 3-4 major decisions. That's a staggering 90 to 120 major decisions every single day. It's no wonder we often feel like our minds are in perpetual overdrive.

So, why should we make mental fitness a priority? Because it's the foundation upon which our capacity to make informed, compassionate, and impactful decisions rests. Let’s dive into three actionable steps to elevate your mental fitness, starting today.

 

  1. The Power of Mindfulness: Incorporate mindfulness practices into your daily routine. Whether it's a five-minute meditation between patient appointments or a mindful walk during lunch, these moments of presence can help you reset and refocus.
